24. Jackie Morris: The Art of The Book of Birds

24. Jackie Morris: The Art of The Book of Birds

Jackie Morris’s gorgeous, nature-inspired artwork has captured the hearts of hundreds of thousands of readers of all ages and is held by multiple public art collections. She is also a great lover of birds, and this love is palpable on every page of The Book of Birds, an extraordinary new collaboration by Morris and author Robert Macfarlane. A re-imagining of the classic nature field guide, The Book of Birds shows readers not only how to identify birds, but how to identify with the forty-nine declining or endangered species featured—so that we might be moved to save them from the devastating loss of bird species worldwide. As she introduces these precious creatures and shares her hopes for their future, Morris will paint live on-stage, with a camera set up to capture every stroke and feather. Suitable for adults as well as high school students, this a rare opportunity to witness the process of a renowned artist.
