This year, some of our events are in theatres and others are available digitally. Please be mindful to check the event description before you book, to determine whether you’re ordering a digital stream or ticket to an event in a theatre.
Masks and proof of double vaccination are required at all in-person events. Our policies and programming are subject to change. Please read our terms here and watch our website for updates.

CINEMA AT THE NEST
Some of our digital events will be projected on screen in our Cinema at the Nest (3rd floor, 1398 Cartwright St). Come to the theatre and watch the digital stream with us. This venue is drop-in, by donation, no need to RSVP.
The events that are streaming in the Cinema at The Nest can also be streamed in your home if you book a ticket, but that ticket will not get you into our Cinema venue.

LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE
The best way to find out if we’re planning to release more tickets in the coming days or weeks is to subscribe to our newsletter. There is no waitlist.
We will also offer a rush line outside the venue in case there are empty seats at the last minute. If you’d like to chance it, please bundle up and arrive early.
Due to public health orders and reduced venue capacities, a very limited number of tickets are available to book. We expect to run out quickly, but there’s a good chance that a small number of additional tickets will be released on September 15 (and hopefully more sometime prior to the Festival).

View our ASL interpreted events. CART captions are provided for most of our adult digital events. Priority seating is available: if we have a seat that meets your needs we can reserve it for you prior to opening the house.

Our digital events are all free or pay what you can. The Digital Pass ($100) is the easiest way to get access to 35 of our digital events in one package without booking individual tickets.
Events in theatres are $25 except where indicated. Discounts are offered for members (10%), seniors (10%), or youth under 30 (50%). Learn more about Membership here.
BUYING TICKETS ONLINE
Why do I need a password? Thanks for your understanding! We must password-protect accounts where we are transacting with your credit card details, and holding tickets in your name. By clicking on “forgot your password” or calling Showpass customer support, you can be quickly up-and-running to complete your purchase.
Can I just buy in person? There is no physical box office this year; all sales are online. If technology is a barrier for you, please call Showpass customer service! We want you to get your tickets booked quickly and easily, and they’re standing by to help. Our small team of box office staff would also love to hear from you if you have any questions Showpass isn’t able to answer.

Something doesn’t work! We’re receiving positive feedback and bookings are coming through. If you’re experiencing an error we’d like you to call customer support for assistance. We also recommend updating your browser, or trying on a different device, if anything doesn’t look right.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I BOOK?
When you purchase a digital pass, you will receive an email confirmation as a receipt for your purchase. The digital pass itself will come separately as an email on October 1st. You do not need to book tickets for the events that are included in the pass – you’ll receive access to all of the included events when your pass arrives.
Events in theatres
You’ll receive a PDF ticket by email at the time of booking and again 24 hours before the event. You can display it on your phone or print it out. An usher will scan your ticket at the door, so please have it ready when you arrive.
Some events in theatres feature a mixture of in-person and virtual guests. Keep an eye on the website for updates about which authors will be appearing in person. These details are subject to change.
Not feeling well? Please stay home! Contact us prior to the event to request a refund if you’re unable to attend due to Covid-like symptoms.
You’ll receive a link to watch the event on Youtube on demand anytime between the livestream and the end of October. Our youth events run under 60 minutes. Teachers, please let us know the name of your school and size of your class during checkout. You only need to book one ticket per class, family, or group but we’d like to know how many people will be watching with you.
Streaming events at home
Our digital events can be accessed via the Zoom event link included in your confirmation email for individually booked events, or in your Digital Festival Pass. At the conclusion of the Festival we will also send you links to watch recordings of the events, which you’ll have access to until the end of October.
