10. Patrick deWitt in Conversation

Famed for his dark wit and eccentric, rollicking storylines, Patrick deWitt is a favourite of the Festival. The bestselling author of The Librarianist and The Sisters Brothers joins us with one of his most raucous novels yet. Dodge City follows a young man on an amphetamine-fueled road trip across the United States, as he flees Los Angeles and the Vietnam War draft for the safe haven of Canada. DeWitt will discuss this anticipated book, as well as how he shines a light on the stranger aspects of human behavior, to equally hilarious and poignant effect. Moderated by David Moscrop.

DAVID MOSCROP is a politics writer, commentator, and podcast host. A contributing writer for The Walrus, his work has also appeared in publications including The Globe and Mail, The Washington Post, The Toronto Star, Time Magazine, The New Statesman, and The Guardian. He holds a PhD in political science from the University of British Columbia and is currently an editor at McClelland & Stewart. He lives in Ottawa.
