75. Nalo Hopkinson in Conversation

75. Nalo Hopkinson in Conversation

Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master Award–winning science fiction and fantasy author Nalo Hopkinson’s body of work is nothing short of astonishing. Her more than a dozen books span different universes and dimensions—but all centre non-normative voices and experiences, and explore the potential that emanates from doing so. She discusses imagination and equity; identity and possibility in conversation with Doretta Lau. She’ll also delve into the ideas within her new release, Blackheart Man, in which the magical island of Chynchin faces conquerors from abroad and something even darker from within. Its fate is told through the story of Veycosi—a poor student with a complex polyamorous personal life—as he grapples with sinister forces at work. Moderated by Doretta Lau.
