16. Romancing the Page

16. Romancing the Page

The romance genre has doubled in sales since 2020 as more and more readers discover that, far from fluffy escapism, stories of love can be page-turningly delicious while delving into the challenges we face in our lives. These three novelists are demonstrating just that. Holly Gramazio’s The Husbands asks, “How do we navigate life, love, and choice in a world of never-ending options?”; Yulin Kuang’s How to End a Love Story offers a new take on the enemies-to-lovers story through two TV writers trying to write themselves a new ending; and Leanne Toshiko Simpson’s Never Been Better is a heartfelt comedy about a seaside wedding reunion… and those trying to stay afloat. Together, they’ll share all about a beloved, morphing genre in an evening of wit and revelry. Moderated by Jael Richardson.
