11. Elizabeth Renzetti in Conversation

11. Elizabeth Renzetti in Conversation

Is feminism now passé? Should women be “over it” now that we’ve seen so much progress so quickly? No, says bestselling author and journalist Elizabeth Renzetti: not when women hold just 30 percent of seats in Canada’s parliament, 5 percent of CEO offices, and a tenth of the salary of male athletes. Not when a fraction of reported sexual assault cases result in convictions and when bodily autonomy continues to be challenged by elected representatives. In this galvanizing, nuanced event, Renzetti offers a fresh perspective on issues facing the country’s women, delving into the complexities of modern equity seeking. While What She Said: Conversations About Equality works to unite women to protect their right to exist fully and freely in the world, make no mistake: this is a fight that belongs to everyone. Moderated by Charmaine de Silva.
