2024 Festival:
October 21–27

01. The Wall Between

01. The Wall Between

On October 3, 2023, authors Raja G. Khouri and Jeffrey Wilkinson published this groundbreaking book, exploring the wall that exists between Jewish and Palestinian communities. This wall is not only one of concrete, but distrust, enmity, and hate, fueling the breakdown of civil discourse in public spaces around the world. Since publication, division, violence, and intergenerational trauma have exponentially increased. In this nuanced and courageous pre-recorded event, available throughout the Festival, the authors continue the essential conversation for us all about how Jews and Palestinians speak (and listen) differently to each other, and the importance of empathy and understanding trauma. Moderated by Leslie Hurtig.

Please see Event 82 for an in-person Q&A version of this event.
