67. Building Suspense

67. Building Suspense

Fans of intricately twisting plots and high-stakes suspense will not want to miss this year’s crime and thriller fiction event, featuring three page-turners from acclaimed authors. Terry Fallis’s tenth novel, The Marionette, introduces readers to a new hero: a thriller writer whose life takes an unexpected turn into the perilous world of espionage with Canada’s Security Intelligence Service. The Tiger and the Cosmonaut by Eddy Boudel Tan is equal parts nail-biting mystery, and tender portrait of immigrant family relationships. Jonathan Lethem traces more than fifty years of one neighborhood’s community, crime, and gentrification in Brooklyn Crime Novel, named a best book of the year by multiple publications. The panelists will discuss the craft of suspense, and how they keep readers on the edge of their seats. Moderated by Robert J. Wiersema.
