04. Masterclass with Wesley King

04. Masterclass with Wesley King

Wesley King knows how to tell stories that have you on the edge of your seat. His books have been published around the globe, and he’s travelled with them, speaking to over 50,000 students worldwide. He even collaborated with the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant on the #1 New York Times bestselling Wizenard series. Most importantly, he knows it’s hard to be a kid, especially when you don’t fit in. His new book, Benny on the Case, follows a boy with Mosaic Down syndrome as he stands up to bullies while trying to solve a mystery. In this middle grade Masterclass, King will build up young writers’ confidence while sharing some of the tips and tools that made him a bestselling author. Grades 4–7.

Presented thanks to the generous support of The Pitfield Family in memory of Ebie Pitfield.

Themes: Middle-grade fiction, creative writing, storytelling, Down syndrome, neurodivergence
Curriculum Connections: English Language Arts 4-9, Physical and Health Education 4-7
