32. The Power of Political Prose

32. The Power of Political Prose

At a time of global political violence, it’s understandable to ask whether the pen really is mightier than the sword. Yet some of the greatest literature has been born from, and written in response to, injustices. More than this: such literature has often transformed our perceptions of what justice can mean. These three writers are no different. Conor Kerr (Prairie Edge), Kirsten McDougall (She’s A Killer), and Jacob Wren (Dry Your Tears to Perfect Your Aim) will explore the motivation behind writing such politically-involved novels and the role of writing in crafting social change. Moderated by Michelle Cyca.
