2024 Festival:
October 21–27

Welcome to the
2024 Vancouver Writers Fest

Welcome to the 37th annual Vancouver Writers Fest: an opportunity for inquisitive, book-loving people to come together for a week of literary celebration. We believe that when we connect people to exceptional books and authors, new ideas and world-expanding dialogue will follow—and, through that—a more empathetic, inspired, and just society. That’s certainly what propelled the Festival’s curation this year.

We’re thrilled to welcome award-winning author Kim Thúy as our Guest Curator; she has curated six brilliant events for youth and adults. This year’s Festival contains 88 events over one dazzling week, featuring authors such as Gabor Maté, Carol Off, Richard Powers, Yulin Kuang, Dionne Brand, Anne Michaels, Rachel Kushner, Nita Prose, Tanya Talaga, Roddy Doyle, Ann Cleeves, Ian Williams, Jane Urquhart, Jody Wilson-Raybould, and many more!

Plus, don’t miss pre-Festival Special Events with literary icons Liane Moriarty, Louise Erdrich, and Malcolm Gladwell; and a post-Festival event with Daniel Levitin.
