Filled with wit, this Incite event celebrates the long-awaited graphic novel, Clyde Fans, an epic twenty-years-in-the-making tale of the Matchcard brothers and the decline of an industry. For those who know him, Seth is a conversationalist extraordinaire with subtle humour infusing every drawing. The New York Times best described Canadian cartoonist’s surprising beauty of work: “Seth writes and draws in a quiet midcentury style, suffused by a gentle melancholy that brings to mind the short stories of Alice Munro,” they explained. He speaks with another acclaimed cartoonist—Ken Boesem—about this “epic time capsule of a storyline that begs rereading”, and his career to date, from his partnership with Lemony Snicket to the endless inspiration behind his long-running comic-book series, Palookaville.

Presented in partnership with the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival.
