Youth & Education Programming
At the Festival

The Vancouver Writers Fest offers students in Vancouver and across British Columbia the opportunity to interact with celebrated writers through a variety of year-round programs, including at our annual Festival. In 2025, students can join us at 23 youth events for students from grades K–12.

All youth events take place in-person on Granville Island between October 21–23, and will also be livestreamed. Tickets for youth events go on sale on Thursday, September 11 at 8:00am.

Teachers can also join us on Friday, October 24 for Pro-D Day events that have been curated with professional development in mind.

Tickets to attend youth events in person are $12 each. VWF offers ticket and bus subsidies for school groups based on need. Learn more here.

In addition to Festival events, we offer opportunities for students to interact with authors through our Writers in the Classroom program, which enables teachers to bring an acclaimed author to their classroom entirely free of charge! Apply for the fall installment by Tuesday, September 30.
