Vancouver Writers Fest’s box office and events are 100% online this year. Thanks for your understanding; we look forward to bringing our box office team back in future years to offer in-person & telephone service!
If you have any questions at all about how to access our events please email firstname.lastname@example.org right away. We’re standing by during event streams to help make sure everybody gets in. Your ticket confirmation email contains A LINK TO THE EVENT in red text, which you need to click to join the stream. We send these the moment you book a ticket, and resend the links again the day before an event.
Accessibility & Equitability
We’ll do our best to make the Festival a safe, inclusive, low-barrier experience for you. Please reach out with your requests and questions to email@example.com.
Professional live captioning will be provided for many of our events. These events are marked with a CC logo.
We welcome requests for interpretation and other accommodations. Please give us at least two weeks notice so we’ll be better able to adapt if possible.
Pay what you can pricing available on all events except Book Club events. GST and a nominal processing fee will be added to your ticket price.
Festival Pass ($100 – available only to Members) includes access to all events during Festival Week (Oct 19-25). Simplify your booking process and support the Festival by purchasing a Festival Pass. You’ll receive access to the complete lineup of events during Festival Week in one tidy bundle. Your pass does not include admission to Fall Series events occurring outside of Festival Week. Available only for VWF Members – check your email for the Member Access Code or become a Member today.
Where’s my Member access code? If you’re interested in purchasing a Festival Pass you must be a current Member. We’ve shared the access code in recent Member emails but if you’re not sure what the code is let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org! We’ll check your Membership status and reply with the secret code.
Can I buy tickets in person? With our apologies, we don’t have box office staff to serve you this year. If ordering online is a difficulty for you, please do call Showpass customer service at 1 (844) 307-7469 for assistance completing your order.
Can I pay by cheque? We are appreciative if you’d like to send us a donation by cheque, but please don’t send us ticket requests through the mail. Free ticket options are available for all of our events! You can reserve your ticket online without having to use a credit card if that’s a barrier for you, and then send a donation cheque if you’re so inclined.
How many tickets do I need? One device = One ticket. If you are a school group or family logging in to watch from one computer together, you only need one ticket for each event. You must register an email address to book your tickets, and that email is the only contact point we will provide access info to, and admit into our stream.
Where can I find the Festival program? You can view our Program Guide online, or pick up a copy at various locations in the Lower Mainland including JJ Bean and our partner bookstores. Program Guides are mailed to everyone with a current Membership toward the end of August.
How do I book podcast tickets? Subscribe to Books & Ideas Audio on your preferred podcast platform to be notified when the podcasts are released.
Do I have to view the event during the livestream? In most or all cases, we’ll be able to send ticketholders a link to view a recording of the event after the fact. These recordings will be available for a limited time, and often not until about a week after the livestream.
