With September comes the fall installment of our extremely popular Writers in the Classroom program. Our Outreach Coordinator, Leena Desai, writes about what you can expect this year.
It’s that time of the year again! Students are back in (mostly virtual) classrooms and we are back with a brand-new lineup of authors waiting in the wings to meet and spend quality time with students. COVID-19 might have changed a lot of things this year, but you can depend on us to provide the same quality of programming we always do. Although our Writers in the Classroom offerings are only virtual this fall, the unexpected benefit of online gatherings—as we discovered in spring—is that students gain the perks of meeting an author in their homes, get a tour of their writing desks and libraries and, occasionally, even get introduced to their adorable fur babies!
Award-winning authors such as Steven Heighton, Michelle Kadarusman, Jess Keating, Michelle Good and more will be doing virtual school visits. For the full line-up of authors and the application process, please click here. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2020. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We look forward to seeing you soon!
