As readers we want to see the world through other people’s eyes, but this goes horribly wrong for Joshua, a blind teenager who begins to glimpse dark secrets through his donated corneas in Paul Cleave’s riveting, unexpected new mystery, A Killer Harvest. Even geniuses can fall victim to evil threats, as modern-day-Sherlock Isaiah Quintabe finds out in Wrecked, the latest in the IQ series from Joe Ide, a crime writer hailed by crime writers. Elsewhere, in London, two mothers-to-be from vastly different backgrounds share a dangerous secret that could destroy everything they hold dear in Michael Robotham’s The Secrets She Keeps. Heart pounding, page turning: this evening offers crime fiction at its best.
Tara Henley is a writer and radio producer and books columnist for the Toronto Star.
