Just when you think your bedside reading list is balanced precariously enough, a fresh set of irresistible titles release, none more irresistible than the four featured in this focus on fiction. Dionne Brand’s latest novel, Theory, is a powerful love story about the heart and the head. Craig Davidson returns with The Saturday Night Ghost Club about a teenager investigating grizzly urban myths. Carrianne Leung’s That Time I Loved You uncovers a different type of mystery: what happens behind closed doors in a mixed race, cul-de-sac neighbourhood. Sarah Selecky has been pegged as the next Alice Munro. Her debut novel, Radiant Shimmering Light, may just confirm this. Better start reinforcing those shelves.
