Choose Your Own Adventure

Kate Harris, Kevin Vallely

Tuesday, October 16
1:00pm - 2:30pm
Waterfront Theatre

1412 Cartwright St, Vancouver

Imagine your job is to travel the world. As a teenager, Lands of Lost Borders author Kate Harris didn’t think the career of explorer still existed. But, as the MIT scientist later discovered, life is as expansive as you dare to make it. Kevin Vallely would likely agree. The professional adventurer has travelled everywhere from active volcano sites to rainforests, as he describes in Rowing the Northwest Passage, the previously unconquered 1000 nautical miles of ice and wind. In this immersive celebration of travel, these brave swashbucklers share the joys and trials of adventure. Above all, they celebrate the importance—and possibility—of forging one’s own path.

Grades 8–12 & adults.

Presented in partnership with SFU’s Faculty of Communications, Art & Technology.
