Following the successful launch of this new series, join us for our second Books & Brunch: a delectable combination of author conversation, fresh breakfast items and a stunning view on Granville Island.
We’re thrilled to welcome two-time Leacock Medal winner Terry Fallis to share his funny, smart new novel about destiny: Albatross.
Called “a compulsively readable novel about what it means to stay true to your dreams, and to yourself,” by Amy Jones, Albatross follows loveable high-school student, Adam Coryell.
When Adam takes a surprising interest in golf, what follows is even more surprising: almost instantly he skyrockets to a prodigy-level stardom that includes tournament titles, sponsorship deals, throngs of fans following his every move, and fodder for tabloids. But here’s the catch: Adam doesn’t really like golf. And as the life he once knew slips away–including the love of his life, the dream of being a writer, and everyday normalcy–he can’t help but wonder if all this success and fame is worth it… or if it’s enough for him.
Heartwarming and funny, sweeping and entertaining, Terry Fallis’s new book takes readers on a journey of self-discovery.
Ticket holders will hear from Fallis about the novel, while enjoying Dockside’s Great Canadian Brunch overlooking False Creek, with dishes including:
• Butter pastries such as danishes, croissants and pain au chocolate;
• Fresh fruit with seasonal berries;
• Scrambled (cage-free) eggs with chives and aged cheddar cheese;
• Maple smoked bacon and honey and thyme pork bangers;
• Roasted herbed Roma tomatoes;
• Crispy fried potatoes with lemon chili salt;
• Freshly brewed coffee and assorted teas.
Books will be available for purchase from Book Warehouse.
