An Update on COVID-19

UPDATE: March 18, 2020

We at the Vancouver Writers Fest consider ourselves very lucky to work with such an incredible team of staff, volunteers, publishers and authors. Our aim is to connect people to exceptional books, ideas and dialogue, and we hope we can do so even when faced with cancelling our Spring events. Each of the events we programmed was carefully curated to showcase extraordinary authors, books and themes. I encourage you to peruse our list of events and to consider purchasing these authorsโ€™ books. Many local independent bookstores are offering delivery. Give them a call and give yourself something enlightening to do during this COVID-19 shutdown.

From all of us at the VWF, please stay safe and well. We look forward to announcing our exciting lineup of Fall events later in June.

Sincerely,

Leslie Hurtig, Artistic Director

At this time we are cancelling our March 18, April 15 and April 22 Incite events.

We are postponing our Wade Davis event on April 20. We plan to present Wade Davis in Conversationย later in 2020 and look forward to sharing these details with you in due course.

The VWF will be communicating any scheduling adjustments for our May Incite events through email, social media and our website.

March 12, 2020

We are all concerned about the spread of COVID-19 in Metro Vancouver and the precautions we need to take as an organization and as individuals to stay healthy.

At the Vancouver Writers Fest, we are carefully monitoring all updates from the BC Centre For Disease Control.

At this time we will be cancelling our March 18 Incite event at UBC Robson Square and will be announcing updates regarding future events on a weekly basis.

The VWF will be communicating any scheduling adjustments for our Incite events through email, social media and our website.

Any decisions we make will be led by public health guidelines and recommendations. For more information on COVID-19 and how it spreads, please see these resources from the BC Centre for Disease Control.
