How To Request Tickets – IMPORTANT INFORMATION
School group tickets go on sale on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 8:00am.
Tickets are $9.50 each + a $.50 service charge. Teachers and adults accompanying school groups may purchase tickets at that price and should be included in the group total.
To request tickets, please complete the form below (which will go live on the first day of ticket sales) with your preferred event, number of seats, and contact information.
Once submitted, the form will link you to PayPal where you’ll be required to place a 25% non-refundable deposit on your requested ticket total.
Receipt of the deposit ensures that you have requested seats for one of the three choices. If you are requesting tickets for more than one event, please click ‘Yes’ under ‘Would you like to make a second order?’
All requests are treated equally and processed on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. We will do our very best to ensure you have tickets to your first choice, but due to the high demand for school groups, we may need to move to your 2nd or 3rd choice.
Once your Paypal deposit has been received, you will receive a confirmation email and invoice from the VWF Box Office. The invoice will be for the remaining 75% of the order and should be used to request a school cheque. The invoice will clearly state that a 25% deposit has been received. This will help you to secure reimbursement from your school if the deposit was made on a personal credit card.
Payment for the remaining 75% of the total MUST be received by the Vancouver Writers Fest WITHIN TWO (2) WEEKS of your order being reserved. Payment can be made via cheque or by speaking with a Box Office representative and providing credit card information over the phone.
Requests should not be considered confirmed until you have received an invoice. If you do not receive an invoice within three days, please call 604.681.6330 ext. 107.
If the outstanding amount is not received within the two week period, the reserved tickets will be released and made available to other school groups to purchase and the 25% deposit will not be refunded.
NOTE: the 25% deposit does not confirm your full booking but rather it reserves the ticket you’ve requested until full payment is received.
In the unlikely event that all three of your choices are fully booked by the time your form and deposit is received, a Box Office representative will contact you to recommend other suitable options.
Subsidies for School Groups
The Vancouver Writers Fest is delighted to be able to offer subsidies for tickets to schools in need thanks to The Cynthia Woodward Development Fund. The Bus Subsidy Program, supported by Bonnie Mah, allows us to offer local transportation subsidies. A limited number of subsidies are available based on financial need.
