Xue Yiwei

Xue Yiwei is an award-winning Chinese-Canadian writer and an author of 16 books. He holds an MA in English Literature from the University of Montreal, and a PhD in Linguistics from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Yiwei has taught Chinese literature at Shenzhen University and has also been a visiting scholar at the City University of Hong Kong. Shenzheners, his first book in English, presents stories inspired by the young city of Shenzhen, a market town north of Hong Kong that in 1980 served as an experiment in introducing capitalism to Communist China.
