Newfoundland and Labrador
Lisa Moore is the acclaimed author of February and Alligator. She is a three-time nominee for the Scotiabank Giller Prize (2002, 2005 and 2013), the winner of the 2006 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize and she was longlisted for the 2013 Man Booker Prize. Moore’s intimacy with her native city and province has made her one of Newfoundland’s (and Canada’s) most important contemporary writers. Flannery, her most recent novel and her first for young adults, follows Flannery Malone, a 16 year old Newfoundlander, through her rapidly fading childhood.
