Gail Anderson-Dargatz’s style has been called “Margaret Laurence meets Gabriel García Márquez.” A two-time Scotiabank Giller-shortlisted author, Anderson-Dargatz has taught creative writing for more than a decade in UBC’s creative writing MFA program and currently mentors writers around the world through online forums. Her latest novel, The Spawning Grounds, is an intimate family saga that bridges First Nations and white cultures and is saturated with the history of the Thompson-Shuswap region of BC.
